About us

Simon & Steph met at a flying school where Simon was the Chief Helicopter Instructor & Steph was the Operations Manager. When the Flying School closed, at a loss at what to do they followed their passion of making things from wood.

After years of hardwork and splinters, success happened when they were recognised for their workmanship by companies such as Harrods, The White Company & Heals.

Moving to Devon, Steph’s home county,  they had the opportunity to take over a family business on the Quay in Exeter, showcasing directly their work to the public.

“Creating beautiful handmade things just comes very naturally to us”

How to care for your board

If cared for correctly they can last a lifetime and even be passed down as family heirlooms. Imagine how lovely it would be to use something everyday that your ancestors used.

All of our boards are finished with several coats of Danish Oil to protect them.

After use, wipe the board clean, do not leave it to soak, or dry it on a radiator or in direct sunlight.

We recommend that periodically you re-oil the board with Danish or Sunflower Oil.

If over time your board marks up, you can re-sand it with 120 grit paper, apply several coats of Danish Oil and apply the final coat of oil with a fine grade of wet and dry sand paper.
